Hamberger Continues to Put Trust in YouthContrary to the recessive economic environment, additional vacancies for apprentice training have been created at the company's head office.
For decades, Hamberger Industriewerke GmbH has offered young people the opportunity to apprentice to a major, internationally operating family company. Nine new vacancies for apprentice training have been created again this year by Germany's leading manufacturer of parquet flooring. Starting on September 1st, the apprentice training focuses on business management and technical contents.
The business management area has welcomed five young apprentices who will be trained in office or industrial business management. The other four apprentices will learn the electronic installer's and mechanical fitter's trades at the company's production facilities.
A characteristic feature of all apprentice trainings offered by Hamberger is that the apprentices get to work in many different departments. This gives them the opportunity to acquire a broad knowledge and to view their profession in the overall context. Depending on the duration of the individual apprenticeship, the apprentices of the business management professions pass through eight to twelve departments, such as purchasing, marketing, data processing, human resources and parquet production. The training contents are by no means limited to the best known business area of Hamberger Industriewerke GmbH, i.e. the production, marketing and distribution of parquet. The Sanitary and Sports divisions also convey their skills and expertise to the young people and give them a cross-departmental view of the processes.
As the largest employer in the Rosenheim district, Hamberger continues to put trust in youth despite the unfavourable economic environment regarding production in Germany. Many of Hamberger's currently roughly 1,300 employees have started their careers as apprentices to Germany's largest parquet manufacturer. This ensures excellent job prospects for the “newcomers” on completion of their apprentice training.

Right on the first day of apprentice training, the head of the Human Resources department, Richard Hermann, took the young people on a tour of the Hamberger company and its production facilities. During the next two to three years of their business-management or technical apprentice training, they will learn all there is to know about the floor coverings from Germany's largest parquet manufacturer.
